Dual Board-Certified Family and Obesity Medicine Physician | Founder of Elite Primary Care
Dr. Poonam Chhibber is an award-winning, dual board-certified physician in Family Medicine and Obesity Medicine (DABOM), with over a decade of experience in providing high-quality primary care. She is known for her warm, collaborative approach and her passion for helping patients take charge of their health, especially those seeking to improve their well-being through weight medicine.
Dr. Chhibber believes that patient education and shared decision-making are the cornerstones of effective care. Her special interests include:

She chose family medicine for its humanistic and relationship-based approach, allowing her to care for patients of all ages while staying intellectually engaged in all aspects of health. Her expertise in Obesity Medicine complements her primary care practice, allowing her to offer a deeper level of support to patients focused on healthy weight management.
Dr. Chhibber earned her medical degree in India and completed her residency in Family Medicine at the University of Arizona in Tucson. She has served on the boards of PCCA, Portland Clinic, and OIMC, and held the role of Medical Director at the Portland Clinic. She has also been consistently recognized as one of Portland Monthly’s Top Docs in Family Medicine.
She is fluent in English, Hindi, and Punjabi, and is committed to providing culturally sensitive care.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Chhibber enjoys cooking, traveling, and spending time with her husband and two children.
